Overview

opnAssist is a browser extension for ad operations professionals. It helps manage ads.txt files and inspect Prebid.js header bidding activity. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is handled.

Data Collection

opnAssist does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. The extension does not have any external servers, analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This includes:

• SSP Groups: The ads.txt entry groups you create, import, or sync from Google Drive
• Drive Sync URL: If you link a Google Drive file, the share URL is stored locally so you can re-sync
• Drive Sync Timestamp: The date/time of your last sync, stored locally

This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to any server, and it is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

Network Requests

opnAssist makes the following network requests, all initiated by explicit user action:

1. ads.txt Fetch: When you click "Fetch ads.txt" and enter a domain, the extension fetches https://{domain}/ads.txt (or http:// as fallback) to retrieve the site's ads.txt file for comparison. Only the domain you enter is contacted.
2. Google Drive Fetch: When you click "Fetch" or "Sync Drive" with a Google Drive link, the extension fetches the file content from https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id={fileId}. Only the specific file you linked is accessed.

No other network requests are made. The extension does not contact any third-party servers, APIs, or analytics services.

Page Access

The extension injects content scripts into web pages to detect Prebid.js instances. These scripts:

• Read JavaScript variables on the page (e.g., window.pbjs, window._pbjsGlobals) to detect Prebid.js
• Listen to Prebid.js events (auction data, bid responses) for display in the extension popup
• Do not modify page content, inject ads, or alter page behavior in any way
• Do not read or access any user input, form data, cookies, or authentication tokens

Third-Party Services

opnAssist does not integrate with any third-party services beyond the network requests described above. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no data brokers.

Children's Privacy

opnAssist is a professional tool for ad operations. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page and in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised.
